PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Germantown Fire District will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2026 between the hours of 6:00pm and 9:00pm at the Germantown Firehouse located at 181 Main Street, Germantown, New York for the purpose of: 1. Electing one (1) Fire Commissioner for a five (5) year term commencing on January 1, 2027 and ending December 31, 2031; and 2. Voting on Proposition #1, a Resolution adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners on October 26, 2026 pursuant to Town Law Section 176(23) declaring a certain 2007 Freightliner Pumper with an estimated value in excess of $100,000 as no longer necessary for Fire District purposes and authorizing its sale or disposition in a manner determined by the Board to be in the best interests of the Fire District.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that to be placed on the ballot, Candidates for Commissioner must submit their intentions to run in writing to the District Secretary at PO Box 331, Germantown, NY 12526 and must be received no later than November 18, 2026.
PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that requests for an absentee ballot, must be received by the District Secretary at PO Box 331, Germantown, NY 12526 no later than December 1, 2026.
All voters in the Germantown Fire District who are registered with the Columbia County Board of Elections on or before November 16, 2026, shall be eligible to vote in this annual election.
