DESCRIPTION:Germantown’s 28th Annual River Sweep for the Riverkeeper SWEEP. \nApril 26\, 2025 from 9 AM to 12 PM \nJoin local clean water advocates for Germantown’s 28th Annual River Sweep at Lasher Memorial Park from 9 AM to 12 PM for the 14th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. This is a rain or shine event. \nVolunteers will meet at Ernest R Lasher Memorial Park\, Anchorage Rd\, Germantown\, NY 12526. There is parking lot at the park. \nWe recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat\, sunscreen\, a full reusable water bottle\, insect repellent\, work gloves and hand sanitizer. \nThis site is not suitable for elementary-aged children. \nQuestions? To ensure the safety of volunteers\, Sweep Site Leaders\, professional staff\, and our communities\, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines: \n\nVolunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.\nVolunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness.\n\nOver the last 13 years\, Sweep leaders have completed 1\,349 service projects\, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 382 tons of debris\, and plant or maintain 8\,851 native plants.
